Comments i am not the best sleeper so often to keep myself moving along i need a nap. i nap in the studio, in my bed, or a friendly couch. my napping habit will adjust to the situation. i try not to siesta longer than 20 minutes and even 9 minutes works good. i feel rested, awake, renewed and ready to go. siestas are a wonderful institution and life would not be as enjoyable without them.

Comments I recently suffered a breakdown and have since been unable to work. As part of my recovery, I realised how important it is for me to rest - even nap - during the day. I now make this a part of my daily 'schedule', with as much importance as any other activity such as exercise. Every day between 2-3pm I relax for an hour, focusing on deep breathing, with no other stimulus like music or tv, and sometimes if my body needs it I will nap for 20 minutes or so. This routine helps me process any stress my body and mind are under, build strength and stamina to keep going. It has proven essential for my overall health, resilience and recovery. In fact, even when I was working, I would take 10-15 minutes in a quiet place every lunch time to close my eyes and just breathe... It makes all the difference.

Comments I have to get up early for work each weekday, so by mid-afternoon I'm just exhausted. If I'm going out that night or wanting to go to the gym, I'll have a "quick lie down" before getting up again and finishing the day refreshed. The only problem is that sometimes I end up having trouble getting to sleep later that night. However, if I had not have had the nap I would've been non compos mentis at the gym or out to dinner!

Comments Why - Because of my occupation, can be quite tiring on occasions When - most afternoons after lunch Where - In a chair, car, if napping on bed or couch, I have a much more relaxed nap, and wake ready for further work later in the afternoon.

Comments I have always been a keen "power napper" stealing naps of approximately 10 to 20 minutes.I was a school principal for many years and found a "power nap' after school gave me the energy to approach meetings and administration work with a new and fresher focus each evening. I still try to have a "power nap" when I can and this also gives me an opportunity to reenergise between clients.

Comments I have trouble with insomnia and very high stress levels, During lunchtime or at an opportune time in the afternoon I will sneak out to my van parked outside my workplace and take a refreshing nap for about 45 minutes. I feel so refreshed that I justify the nap in terms of increased productivity and freshness. Sometimes I deliberately work unpaid overtime to clear my conscience, but I don't tell anyone at work of my napping for fear of ridicule or retribution.

Comments Most of my friends are amazed that I have so much energy. But I tell them "it's the cat naps!" I nap whenever I can - I prefer to get into bed, in a dark room but sometimes I end up having to take one in the car with the seat back. I wake up exactly 10 minutes later. Afterwards I feel brilliant! I can work for another 8 hours full speed.

Comments As a past flight attendant I was always thinking of napping. Now as an MC and with age, power napping is all the go! I nap for about 15-30 minutes in semi-darkness, usually at around 3 pm. I feel tired and sometimes cranky before hand, but always feel better for it afterwards and can stay up later with more energy.

Comments "I nap when I'm tired, not every day. It makes a huge difference to my energy and productivity for the rest of the day. After 20 minutes I almost always feel wide-awake and refreshed. Any longer and it's hard to crank up again. I'm an international time management specialist and some of my clients do this as well, plus I always promote it.

Comments I nap a few times a week, when I feel tired, or when I can?t work something out. I work long hours and even a nap of 10 minutes gives me extra energy. And sometimes it gives me new ideas. I?ve realised how crazy it is to say I don?t have time. Napping gives me more time and space. Life is about quality, not how much we can cram in. Napping definitely improves the quality.

Comments My productivity was so much better when I took a 15-20 minute nap in the afternoon. It didn?t take much longer than a coffee break to get a result but I felt a nagging guilt that I was letting the team down, even though I would put in a 9 to 10 hour day.

Comments I?m a HUGE napper. Some days I simply cannot survive without a few zzzz?s. Life is pretty busy and to be able to nap is such a saviour ? it allows me to enjoy the rest of the day. Very happy to promote napping to the world ? it?s the cheapest thrill you can get between 9am and 5.30pm.
